Tonnes of stuff been happening lately, but some especially awesome stuff happened today which I've just gotta tell you guys about!
So, about a month or so ago, I was hanging out in my school's art block one afternoon as usual, and my teacher yelled out to me from the staffroom. Nothing unusual, of course. She showed me this digital art competition that she had just got in her email and said I might like to enter it. I did submit an entry, two hours before the closing date and time, as it had completely slipped my mind for two weeks. The theme was "celebrations" but I didn't create a new work for it, just submitted this piece:

About a week later, my teacher told me I had gotten through the first round of judging, another week later I was told that I was a finalist, and I was invited to the award ceremony! So, that's where I was today, instead of at school... Held at the Seymour Center at University of Sydney.
So guess what? I came first! And got a shiny trophy made out of glass and a framed certificate and a whole bunch of stuff for my school valued in total at 3000something dollars, including Intuos4 tablets. But that's not even the most exciting part.
After the ceremony, when every one was taking photos and everything, someone came up to me and said that there were people from Adobe who wanted to meet me...! It was weird and I was kind of ecstatic, of course. They introduced themselves to me, and gave me their card, and said they were very interested in my work!

They also said I would probably be able to find work experience at Adobe if I was interested. Damn straight I'm interested.
Times like this when I think I might really actually go somewhere with my art...
